More than 1,200 high school students attended the 10th Annual Mass CCD to learn about industry job opportunities, including the construction, engineering and environmental fields. TCI provided apprenticeship directories to students and provided information on the benefits of working in union construction.

Sixteen participants graduated in the second training session of Building Pathways, a Building Trades Pre-Apprenticeship Program. The participants were selected from over 160 applicants and took part in a 7-week training program that included classroom and hands-on learning experiences to prepare them to enter an apprenticeship in the building and construction trades.

President Ayers was a remarkable labor leader with a passion to improve the lives of men and women not only  in the building construction trades but all working Americans.  Through his leadership, President Ayers has strengthened union construction across the nation and has served as a model for future labor leaders.”

The report documents irresponsible construction practices on the UMass Amherst Campus. TCI Executive Director, Mary Vogel appeared on a WWLP TV 22 news report and commented on the findings from the study,"Building a Better Future: The Need for a Responsible Employer Policy at UMass Amherst."

TCI presented three Pride in Construction Project of the Year Awards recognizing the Medford Interstate I-93 Fast 14 Superstructure Bridge Replacements, the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, and Figge Hall Dormitory at the College of Holy Cross.

The Volpe-Eagan Construction Safety Awards were given to Jill P. Alexander, Project Development Director, K. Courtney & Associates, and Frederick (“Rick”) Bockman, New England Regional Safety Manager, Gilbane Building Company.
